The mission of Fundación Julie is to help break the cycles of poverty and violence in vulnerable communities of Cartagena de Indias by preventing adolescent pregnancy, preventing sexual and gender-based violence, promoting mental health, and empowering girls, boys, adolescents, and women—strengthening their life skills, their life plans, and their community leadership.

Differential approach
Fundación Julie works through a differential, gender, and rights-based approach that recognizes the specific realities of girls, boys, adolescents, and women, especially single mothers who are heads of household. Our interventions take into account age, gender, and family and social context, and prioritize the creation of safe, protective, and inclusive environments—incorporating mental health as a cross-cutting focus and promoting the active participation of families and the community.
